ONE
Sunset Is Introduced In March 2007 As
One Singular Setting For A Perfect Evening
(Los
Angeles, February 2007) One Sunset
will launch on the Sunset Strip in March
2007 as the most recent in a collection
of incomparable social dining destinations
created by female hospitality duo, Celeste
Fierro and Erica Cohen. With a touch of
inspiration taken from the team?s Lower
Manhattan gem, One Little West 12th, One
Sunset will fuse impeccable dining with
relaxed ambiance, giving Los Angeles a
much needed ?staple? experience that will
act as both low key chic and high end
exclusive.
Owner Erica Cohen states that “One
Sunset will have the best of both worlds
in the LA restaurant and nightlife scenes.
We create an atmosphere that encompasses
all elements of a fantastic night out."
“We create such a captivating ambiance
between our chef's amazing menu, the sexy
vibe and great music, we are a one stop
destination."
The space combines a sultry deep color
scheme, with dark sleek custom made furnishings
that create a feeling of subdued opulence.
Designer, Lionel Ohayon takes inspiration
from exotic spaces, subtle details and
motifs one might find in southern Spain
or northern Africa. A feeling of warmth
and excitement envelope you as images
of a linen tent with cypress trees in
the middle of a dessert, a clear aqua
grotto lit by candle light, and a cozy
room illuminated by reflections on gold
and other precious metals surrounding
the room come to mind. The space was designed
to transform throughout the night, fitting
any dining plans, from a delicious cocktail
after work to a sophisticated yet relaxed
atmosphere for dinner, slowly becoming
a lounge as the night progresses.
“The space has a playful element
by which distinct areas harmoniously blend
together to create a unified venue, states
designer Lionel Ohayon. The flow amongst
each of the separate areas is highly conducive
to meeting people, facilitates the transition
between “having a table" and
“being at the bar", and is
accommodating for any number of groupings."
The space is made up of three rooms, including
the Champagne bar, Blue room and Candle
room. At first glance, One Sunset catches
your attention with views through the
intimate garden patio that overlooks the
Sunset Boulevard. An indoor tented space
with warm light glowing behind the delicately
draped fabric, light floors, a white stone
clad bar, and an illuminated communal
table made with alabaster and dark wood
are some of the stand out features of
the Champagne room.
As you pass through the draped curtains
into the Blue room, an illuminated raspberry
resin strip highlights the bar top. Two
billowy trees drape their white branches
at each end of the bar holding small candles
that infuse the space with soft light
and a sense of playfulness. The opposite
side of the Blue room has comfortable
banquets, lit by a glow cast through the
branches overhead. As you make your way
toward the back of the space, the feature
candle wall catches draws attention toward
the back of the room. The candle wall
is made of units that can pivot individually
to either open up or close off the private
room in the back. A trellis like structure
surrounds the spaces on the elevated platform
creating a more private and intimate surrounding.
The VIP room has the ability to be a part
of the space or house private parties.
The back wall of this space is a metal
curtain that shimmers with the reflection
of the candle light in front. All the
columns are wrapped with leather panels
with a delicate embossed detail. The restrooms
are designed to replicate the calming
feelings one might have in a deep blue
pool, proving a relief from all the warm
colors that are so vivid in the main space.
One Sunset has chosen Executive Chef Christopher
Ennis to fashion a menu of culinary gems
that range from simple palate to decadent
and rich. Menu items include, Sharing
Plates of Prosciutto Encrusted Shrimp

a noticeable influence from the sea, as
well as being strongly grounded in the
use of seasonal, organic, and farmer's
market fresh ingredients," states
